The Florida Building Code requires permits for most construction-related work that involve Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Mechanical improvements, in order to provide for safety and compliance to the Building Code.

ITEMS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE A PERMIT:
These improvements must still be constructed in accordance with the minimum Building Code standards. As a safety measure, items such as replacing existing electrical fixtures, outlets, switches or plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sink, and dishwashers, etc must be performed by competent individuals.
